Awareness Walk Details
A noncompetitive 2 mile awareness walk. Participants are welcome to bring strollers and wagons for youth participants. Previous team signage and t-shirts have been used to distinguish themselves from the other participants. The first person to finish the walk will be awarded with a first place finisher medal.
*Animal participation varies among walk location. Please contact walk coordinator or venue location for approval or verification.
5K Race Details
Participate in the first 5K Race to Solve the Puzzle! A 3 mile (5K) timed running race that consists of awards for each age group!
Create A Walk /Race Team
Create a walk/race team that consists of friends, family, and co-workers! Download your Team Captain Guide to get started! Set a fundraising goal and use the fundraising tools to help you reach your goal! The largest team and top fundraiser at each event location will be awarded!
Post Walk/Race Activities:
We encourage and invite you to participate in post walk /race activities! There is something for every age! Resource exhibitors, food vendors, bounce houses, kids activity corner, and much more. The Top Fundraiser and Largest Team will be awarded a trophy and recognized at the event, and top female and male in each race age group will also be recognized/awarded.

Registration Information :
All walker’s and runner’s are encouraged to pre-register. You can pre-register online or by mailing in a registration form and fees to the Autism Society of Alabama two weeks to your local event. Participants that pre-register two weeks prior to local event are guaranteed to receive an event t-shirt on the day of event. Walk Up/Day of event registrations are welcome, but participants are not guaranteed to receive the desired shirt size at the event and will be mailed quantity and sizes ordered.
Pre-Registration Fees: $30 per person Day of Event Registration Fee: $35 per person
5K Race Early Packet Pick Up
Avoid the lines on Event Day and pick up your packet on Friday before the race at the Autism Society Office. You must mail in registration forms two weeks to your local event or online 1 week prior to event. to take advantage of "Early Packet Pickup". After this time, online registration will be closed and you must register at the event on Saturday.
Day of Event:
Please bring any remaining donations, registration fees, etc. with you the day of the event. Plan to arrive a few minutes before registration times to allow for parking and to avoid long registration lines. The event will take place rain or shine and will not be rescheduled due to rain. In the event that severe weather occurs, event coordinators will decide 24 hours prior to the event if cancellation or time changes are necessary. Participants will be notified of these changes via the Autism Society of Alabama website, the Walk for Autism event site, and a recording will be placed on our general Walk Hotline Number 877-4AUTISM ext. 805. Any additional questions regarding the day of the event, please contact event coordinator listed above.

Mail all donations collected to the Autism Society of Alabama prior to your event, and any last minute donations may be brought with you and turned in at the check-in/registration table.
